Birtley House offers real career progression for staff nurses who wish to follow a career specialising in care of the elderly. Career path: 

The career path for Nurses encompasses the following roles:

  1. Staff Nurse
  2. Senior Staff Nurse
  3. Night Sister (4 shifts/week: 8pm-8am)  
  4. Clinical Lead
  5. Deputy Manager

Skills:

  • Clinical skills required: venipuncture & urinary catherisation
  • Beneficial skills (not vital as training would be given): knowledge of McKinley syringe driver and palliative care drugs
