I started as a newly qualified nurse of just 8 months and truly believe that taking the post as staff nurse at Birtley was the best decision I ever made, not only with career development, but being fortunate to work in an environment that is truly unique. I have undertaken a wide variety of training courses, all with the help of Matron and with backing from the Board. Four years on, I am lucky to have been promoted first to Clinical Lead & now to Head of Nursing.

The successful candidate must be an excellent commmunicator and be confident in meeting clients, stakeholders and staff with first-rate organisational skills and be able to demonstate initiative. The role requires a high degree of confidentiality and good inter-personal skills.
