32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, 10am-5pm.
We are looking for someone to work alongside our Activities team, delivering one-to-one experiences to our Residents. This is a very rewarding role. The candidate will have a warm personality with a sense of humour and lots of patience. Patience is required because each person will have a different set of needs. Getting to know the Residents individually is important. So you must be able to get to know people easily and make them feel comfortable.
You will take a holistic approach to our residents’ needs. And you will tailor activities to individuals who are unable to, or may not wish to attend the homes daily activities.
This might be one-to-one sessions and/or group activities so you can bring individuals together. You will be a creative person and be someone who enjoys doing the little things that make an experience personal. You might organise days out locally, coffee trips, watching a sport, playing a game, or taking up a new craft. So some research and planning is considered part of the role.
The Well-being Companion works as part of the Activities Team, but has a specific role with various other responsibilities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with imagination, energy and initiative.
- Problem solving
- Motivational skills as you will have to motivate yourself and residents
- Strong organisational skills
- Efficient time management skills
- All of the above are useful so you can plan and co-ordinate trips
Your own transport is essential, and you must hold a full clean drivers’ licence. We also need you to be prepared to drive our company minibus.
