Hospitality Assistant 25 hours – Part-time

Ideally you will work a shift pattern of 5 days a week between 9am to 2pm worked as part of a rota and to include some weekend working. Some flexibility regarding hours may be possible for the right candidate.

 

Purpose of Position

  • Supervising and serving meals to our residents and their guests ensuring that no resident feels in any way rushed or pressured to finish a meal.
  • Ensuring that all guest meal bookings are recorded accurately for ordering and accounts purposes.
 

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Head of Kitchen and check the menu daily
  • Setting the Orangery Dining room for all meals focussing on a high standard of presentation
  • Visit each resident daily, ensuring that they are aware of the choices, clearly recording their menu choices and providing guidance as necessary
  • Liaise with the Head of Kitchen regarding any special requirements for the day and provide residents’ choice information for meal planning
  • Clean and re-fresh all water jugs and glasses and return them to residents’ rooms
  • Attend appropriate training/development programmes and staff meetings as scheduled
  • Undertake any other duties required, including working in other areas when required to ensure the smooth running of the home and delivery of care to the residents
  • Always understand and maintain confidentiality.

Due to our rural location access to a vehicle is useful, as public transport to the house is limited.
