Birtley House Nursing Home support this commitment (see: www.thesocialcarecommitment.org.uk for further details) which is in line with our own philosophy. We hope that this will help to improve public confidence in the care sector.
The media has screened various documentaries showing the poor care standards which sadly occur in some homes. At Birtley you can have confidence that here our residents are nursed by skilled staff who deliver quality care.
As part of our commitment to providing quality care and ensuring that our residents' dignity is respected at all times, we have now employed a Practice Development Nurse who will work alongside all staff to ensure that everyone is shown how to maintain standards of best practice. This is exciting for the Practice Development Nurse and for all the Birtley Staff. Our residents will benefit from a more skilled and happy team of staff.
