Surrey Care Association Manager of the Year

Surrey Care Association Manager of the Year

At an awards ceremony held at Epsom Downs Racecourse, Karen Williams was presented with the prestigious 'Manager of the Year' Award. Accompanied by 11 cheering members of staff, representing several departments at Birtley, a delighted Karen received her award from BBC news reader Nicholas Owen.

'Karen has provided care staff with an innovative career structure with opportunities for promotion, if they wish to develop their roles, while essentially remaining care givers. She has introduced the new role of Counsellor into the home in order to offer residents and their families additional emotional and psychological support'.

Many congratulations to Karen from everyone at Birtley. You deserved to win, and we are all absolutely delighted that you did!
