As always, during the Sculpture Garden in May, we held a Children's Quiz for those aged 12 and under. There was a terrific response and many children could be seen rushing around with pencil and paper, completing their forms (sometimes with a litle assistance from helpful parents!). There was a 50p entry fee which was donated to the Community Foundation for Surrey and we had two prize winners - one for the 7 and under age group and one for the 8-12 age group. This year we were very pleased to announce the winners as a brother and sister combination and they each won a WH Smith Voucher.
The winner of the 8-12 category was Thomas Craig, aged 9 and the winner of the 7 and under category was Sophia Craig, aged 7. They each drew a picture of their favourite sculpture, which can be seen below:

With Halloween celebrations growing each year in the UK, our Birtley House activities team decided to really embrace it this year and make the most of our own home grown pumpkins.
Having made the decision that additional care is required and that a nursing home is the right solution, finding the right one can be a daunting process. To help ease this, Birtley House nursing home guildford have devised a check list of the initial, most important considerations for any individual or family.
