On the afternoon of Thursday 9th June, Residents, family & friends gathered together to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday with a tea party held in the marquee in the grounds.
The sun shone as Residents gathered to the sound of Kevin Jacot playing many much loved tunes. Soft drinks, tea and a vast array of delicious fare, produced by Steve and the kitchen team, was placed on each table, then everyone charged their glasses to toast the Queen. There were two other birthday celebrations for Mrs Trewick and Mr Chandler, who were both presented with specially-made cakes and raucous singing!
With Halloween celebrations growing each year in the UK, our Birtley House activities team decided to really embrace it this year and make the most of our own home grown pumpkins.
Having made the decision that additional care is required and that a nursing home is the right solution, finding the right one can be a daunting process. To help ease this, Birtley House nursing home guildford have devised a check list of the initial, most important considerations for any individual or family.
