Earlier on in the year, we conducted an experiment in the garden. For a long time, the Gardening Team have been plagued by Mares Tail which is a deep-rooted perennial weed that spreads quickly, forming a dense carpet of foliage that crowds out other plants. It was suggested that the pigs be brought in to sort out the problem. So, a run was made and the pigs were brought up by our two Work Experience lads, Sam & Ryan. The pigs rapidly started to chew their way through the Mares Tail and within weeks, a completely new area was established that had previously been choked with weeds. A happy result for both Gardening Team and Pigs alike!
