During Activities on Tuesday 28th February, Shrove Tuesday traditions were played out amidst much laughter as pancakes went flying through the air!
The Residents reminisced about making pancakes and we learnt that Collop Monday is the name given to the day before Shrove Tuesday (dictionary definition of Collop is a slice of meat, so the Monday was traditionally the last day to eat meat before Lent).
Pancakes with lemon and sugar or syrup had of course been on the lunch menu prior to Activities for all to enjoy.
