Music Kids sing for Residents

Music Kids sing for Residents

On Sunday 14th May, Godalming-based choir, Music Kids came to Birtley to give a wonderful singing performance for our Residents. The annual event was meant to take place outside in the gardens, to take advantage of the Sculpture exhibition, but due to a large deluge of rain it was decided that the performance should be in the Orangery.

Many of our Residents assembled, along with staff and children's parents to listen to a very enthusiastic performance of well-known songs.  Our Residents were able to join in and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

Music Kids range in age from under 7 (red t-shirts), 7-10 (yellow t-shirts), to over 10 (blue t-shirts). Huge thanks to Music Kids, their parents and group leaders, James, Barbara and Shirley for coming to Birtley.

This week (11 – 17 June) is Carers Week – an annual campaign that seeks to raise awareness of those who volunteer their time to care for others on an unpaid basis, highlight some of the challenges they face and recognise the contribution they make to society.
