Jeremy Hunt, local MP for South West Surrey and the Secretary of State for Health, and Anne Milton, MP for Guildford will attend an awards ceremony at Birtley House on Friday 23rd January.
One of our lead carers, Ola Szychulska, will be one of the 10 nurses and care workers from care homes in the south-east, East Anglia and the south-west, who will receive their certificates, which will be presented by Jeremy Hunt.
This will mark the end of their first stage on a new degree course which has been designed to develop the skills of those looking after older people. The new Elizabeth Care course aims to raise the standards of those working in this sector. The course was run at the University of Surrey by local Consultancy, 360o Forward, who aim to roll out the course to other Universities, in addition to a Foundation course for those new to care.
An afternoon spent getting to know each other

Having made the decision that additional care is required and that a nursing home is the right solution, finding the right one can be a daunting process. To help ease this, Birtley House nursing home guildford have devised a check list of the initial, most important considerations for any individual or family.
