Born in 1911, Mrs Amey is 105 today and was delighted to receive her all-important card from The Queen.
Today she is enjoying a special lunch with her extended family but the Birtley celebration, held yesterday, was a far larger affair with over 60 residents, staff, family and many guests assembling to join in the celebration. Special guests were the Mayor of Waverley, Mike Band, and a group from the Salvation Army who played favourites of Mrs Amey. A special birthday tea, prepared by the Birtley kitchen team, complete with champagne rounded off the celebrations.

An afternoon spent getting to know each other
With Halloween celebrations growing each year in the UK, our Birtley House activities team decided to really embrace it this year and make the most of our own home grown pumpkins.
Having made the decision that additional care is required and that a nursing home is the right solution, finding the right one can be a daunting process. To help ease this, Birtley House nursing home guildford have devised a check list of the initial, most important considerations for any individual or family.
