It's been a busy few weeks getting everything ready for the opening of the sculpture garden on Saturday 3rd May. Mowing has been a major priority, keeping on top of the grass as the growth rate accelerates due to the warming weather.
In the vegetable garden, the beds have been prepared for planting in the coming weeks and the recent rains have helped the sweet peas and broad beans get going.
We took full advantage of last Friday's washout and planted up one of the polytunnels with tomatoes. This year, as well as growing them up canes, we experimented growing a lower growing variety in compost bags, utilising the difficult space behind the canes.
