A highlight of our annual sculpture exhibition is always the visit from the Guildford and Godalming groups of blind and partially sighted who we support with funds raised at Birtley for the Community Foundation for Surrey.
The group of 30, including their volunteer helpers, enjoyed the exhibition on a delightfully warm and sunny morning, followed by coffee, homemade cookies and scones served in the the Orangery. Birtley resident, Mrs Coe, joined the groups for coffee. For many years she has made attractive cards which she sells in aid of the Community Foundation.
Birtley has supported GAMBIT groups for many years, starting with the Guildford group in 2007. Over the years, the members have become firm friends of Birtley.
An afternoon spent getting to know each other
With Halloween celebrations growing each year in the UK, our Birtley House activities team decided to really embrace it this year and make the most of our own home grown pumpkins.
Having made the decision that additional care is required and that a nursing home is the right solution, finding the right one can be a daunting process. To help ease this, Birtley House nursing home guildford have devised a check list of the initial, most important considerations for any individual or family.
