Residents and Staff entered into a competition to name the Birtley Cow that will form part of the Surrey Cow Parade and the joint winners were Miss Patricia Lewis and Senior Staff Nurse, Michelle Hutchison with the name LIBERTY (an anagram of Birtley). The competition raised £82.00 for the Community Foundation for Surrey.
The warm sunny afternoon meant that our Residents could enjoy their tea in the Rose Garden, surrounded by the stunning display of roses.
Birds are beginning to appear on our Cow as artist Emma Allen works tirelessly to complete her project.

Pupils from the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music delighted a packed Activities Room this afternoon with their polished performances on violin, cello and piano.

The ENRICH programme (Enabling Research in Care Homes) is the first national care home research project network in the world. This innovative initiative aims to broaden the research landscape by encouraging stronger partnerships between researchers, care home staff and residents.
The Mews Residents gather weekly for a sherry party and this sunday they were able to sit in the courtyard, enjoying the sunshine.
On the afternoon of Thursday 9th June, Residents, family & friends gathered together to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday with a tea party in a marquee in the grounds.
The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt, MP for South West Surrey visited Birtley House on Friday 27th May. This was the third time he has visited the Nursing Home - this time it was to congratulate us on being the only Nursing Home for the Elderly in Surrey to have achieved a CQC rating of Outstanding.
