The Activities Team are always thinking up new ideas to entertain our Residents and here is a 'snapshot' of things that they have been up to...
On Friday 7th October, Birtley Resident, Dr. Bobby Reynolds set sail at Papercourt Sailing Club with the Sailability Team.
Thousands of visitors flocked to this year's Surrey Hills Wood Fair held in the grounds at Birtley over the weekend of 1/2nd October. Despite the rain on Saturday, families were entertained with horse & wagon rides, archery, tree climbing, storytelling and live bands and the sun shone all day on Sunday.
On the evening of Monday 12th September, twenty Residents gathered together for a Tropical themed supper, an idea that was put forward by the late, Heinz Mayer, so the evening was dedicated to him.
Birtley Massage Therapist, Val Hutton, has joined thousands of others in the UK who have been brave enough to have their head shaved in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The gardens are producing an abundance of fruit & vegetables for our Resident's to enjoy being incorporated into their varied daily menu.
On Friday 19th August, Derek Goode and his wife Betty, planted two Boscobel rose plants in the rose garden in memory of their great friend, Jean Donaldson.
On Tuesday 16th August, Carol Smith ran her second 'Art in the woods' workshop day at Birtley. the group enjoyed a lovely day of artwork and Simon joined them to flex his artistic muscles!
Birtley House has successfully moved from a paper-based to a computerised care plan system with the advent of MED e-care.
