A true cause for celebration

International Nurse Day Logo

No, it’s not Christmas, Easter or a Royal Wedding, but something arguably a little closer to our hearts.

On the 12th May it’s International Nurses Day – a day that has been celebrated every year since it was established in 1965 and one that marks the contribution nurses make to society.

As a Bramley nursing home that has been welcoming residents from across the county and beyond since 1945, we’re not only more established than International Nurses Day but have built a reputation for delivering outstanding nursing care in Surrey around our nurses.

In fact, without our team of committed, dedicated and selfless nurses, we wouldn’t be where we are today, which is one of the top one per cent of UK care homes to have achieved the Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission.

Nurses are more than simply caregivers. They are innovators, counsellors, advocates and, certainly in the case of Birtley House, friends to our residents – many of whom regard our nurses as almost family.

In a world where there is seemingly a day of celebration for everything, one day that truly stands out is International Nurses Day. So, on behalf of everyone at Birtley House, let’s take this opportunity to show our appreciation for nurses  – not just at Birtley House but also throughout the UK – and simply say ‘thank you’.

For those currently looking for nursing jobs in Guildford then we are always looking to expand our talented team. For more information contact Frank Whalley, Managing Director, on 01483 892055 or email a copy of your CV to emma.abrew@birtleyhouse.co.uk, our HR co-ordinator.
