Jill Perkins & Mavis Greaves enjoyed planting the winter pansies in the warm sunshine yesterday morning.
Fun for all the family - whatever your age, at the Surrey Hills Wood Fair. Held annually in the parkland at Birtley House, this fair at the weekend had a wide variety of Coppice Crafts, demonstrations, Horse & Wagon rides and Children's activities, including Tree climbing and bugs hunts.
Our multi-activities afternoons are always popular with our Residents, offering something for all tastes: Painting, Rummikub, Scrabble and Snakes & Ladders.
Birtley House Nusing Home is one of six finalists shortlisted for a prestigious national award: 'Care Home of the Year' at the Caring UK Awards, a new annual event which recognises excellence and achievement within the care sector throughout the country. www.caringukawards.co.uk
Afternoon activities are always very varied and recently Residents had an enjoyable afternoon making seasonal items for the Autumn Board.
A fun afternoon of movie nostalgia for our Residents was masterminded by our Wellbeing Mentor.
Enjoying Armchair Yoga: Many of our Residents are able to enjoy walks around the extensive grounds here at Birtley House Nursing Home, but for those who are less mobile we ensure that there are other opportunities to help keep fit, including regular Tai Chi and Armchair Yoga classes.
The imaginative Activities programme at Birtley House Nursing Home ensures that there is always something interesting to do. Recently Residents tried their hand at making Tudor-style soap using a recipe from the National Trust magazine.
A very British BBQ! Rain (in fact an absolute deluge) didn't stop play at the Residents BBQ evening! With Kerry, Head of Kitchen, cooking under a large parasol, and the some 26 Residents plus carers snug and dry indoors, a wonderful time was had by all.
